About IPVerify

IPVerify was never originally intended for public consumption. As a software engineer, I had a requirement to build a small test site using the new technology at the time - .NET Core. I needed to come up with some kind of simple test site that was functional and utilized specific networking features of .NET Core.

The first page was actually the Ping Tool because it was simple. The Port Scanner Tool followed shortly after. The IP Geolocation page was added later to test an API for a separate project.

The original site was ultra-basic - just plain HTML, with no styling. It wasn't elegant, but it served its purpose for testing. Apparently it served a purpose for others also. The site sat unmonitored for about 6 months, after which I realized it had received tens of thousands of hits - and not by hackers or opportunists. The unexpected interest in the site prompted me to give it its own domain name and build it out to what it is today.

Today IPVerify offers more free network diagnostic tools and some educational articles about TCP/IP and how the Internet works in general.

Please note that none of the tools offered on this site collect or store any of your personal IP or network information. Nothing is sent to a server or stored in a database.

IPVerify is designed, coded and hosted in California, USA.
